What is Gayo Arabica Green Coffee?

Gayo Arabica is grown in the central highlands of Aceh province, Sumatra — one of Indonesia's most prestigious specialty coffee regions. The Gayo plateau sits at 1,200–1,600 meters above sea level, with volcanic soil, consistent rainfall, and cool temperatures that produce a coffee with exceptional body and complexity.

Gayo is Indonesia's largest Arabica exporting region and is recognized globally for its earthy, full-bodied character and distinctive processing traditions, including the signature Indonesian wet-hull (Giling Basah) method. It holds EU Organic and Fairtrade certification from multiple farmer cooperatives, making it attractive to sustainability-focused roasters in Europe, the US, and Japan.

As a direct supplier, Willkin Green Coffee sources Gayo Arabica from farmer cooperatives in Bebesen, Pegasing, and Bies sub-districts — the core of the Gayo growing area — with full traceability documentation available.
