Why Source Organic Indonesian Coffee?

Beyond premium pricing, organic certification delivers measurable benefits across the supply chain.

🌿

Market Premium

Organic-certified coffee commands 15–30% price premium in US, EU, and Japanese retail markets. Buyers can differentiate their brand positioning.

🏷️

Label Compliance

USDA NOP and EU Organic certification is required to legally use the word "organic" on packaging in the US and EU. We provide the necessary OTC documentation.

🌍

EUDR Ready

Our organic lots come with EUDR-compliant documentation: farm GPS polygons, deforestation-free declarations, full supply chain traceability.

👨‍🌾

Farmer Impact

Organic premiums flow directly to certified cooperative farmers, funding education, healthcare, and infrastructure in highland farming communities.

Cup Quality

Organic farming often correlates with better cup quality — traditional shade growing, lower yields, and natural soil health produce more complex flavors.

🏅

Consumer Demand

Organic coffee is one of the fastest-growing segments in specialty retail globally. B2B buyers who source certified organic can command higher shelf prices.

Organic Certification Pricing Premiums

Organic and certified lots are priced transparently. Premiums reflect actual certification costs and farmer premiums.

🌿 USDA / EU Organic Premium

Adds approximately USD 0.20–0.50/kg above conventional specialty pricing. Covers certification costs, audit fees, and the premium paid to the certified cooperative. Exact premium depends on origin and current harvest.

Premium certified against current ICE Coffee C contract + basis.

⚖️ Fairtrade Premium

Fairtrade Minimum Price applies (USD 1.40/lb for Arabica) plus the Fairtrade Premium of USD 0.20/lb paid to the cooperative Social Premium fund. Priced above NYBOT/ICE if market is above minimum.

Often combined with Organic for "Fair Trade + Organic" lots.

🔬 Third-Party Inspection

Optional SGS or Sucofindo pre-shipment inspection: approximately USD 150–300 per container passed at cost. Provides independent weight and quality certificate for L/C and import compliance.

Strongly recommended for first orders and L/C transactions.

Organic Coffee Questions

Yes. We supply USDA Organic certified green coffee from Gayo (Aceh) and Mandheling (North Sumatra) year-round, and Bali Kintamani seasonally (May–October). Minimum order is 500 kg per origin. For organic labeling in the US, you will need our Organic Transaction Certificate (OTC) which we issue per shipment.
Organic certified lots add approximately USD 0.20–0.50/kg above standard specialty pricing. Fairtrade-certified lots use the Fairtrade Minimum Price plus USD 0.20/lb premium. We provide full price breakdowns in all quotes so the organic and certification premiums are transparent. Combined Organic + Fair Trade lots are available from Gayo and Mandheling.
Yes. All EU-bound shipments include EUDR due diligence documentation as standard: farm-level GPS polygon coordinates, land-use records showing no deforestation after December 31, 2020, and deforestation-free declarations. This documentation supports your DDS (Due Diligence Statement) filing in the EU TRACES NT system.
Yes. We offer 200–500g green bean samples of organic certified lots, available at cost + shipping. Samples come with cupping reports from our Q-Grader, moisture certificates, and green analysis sheets. We strongly recommend cupping samples in your own roastery before placing a full order.
Organic certification and cup quality are not directly correlated — both organic and conventional lots can score 84–88 on SCA cupping. However, organic lots from Indonesia often come from cooperatives with strong quality programs and farmer training, which does tend to correlate with better cup quality. Our organic Gayo lots average 84–87 SCA, comparable to our best conventional specialty lots.
