How We Source & Verify Certified Coffee

Certification is only as good as the chain of custody. Here's how we maintain traceability from farm to port.

1

Certified Cooperative Partners

We partner directly with certification-holding cooperatives — primarily KBQ Baburrayyan (Gayo), KPSP Permata Gayo, and certified Mandheling cooperatives. Each cooperative maintains their own certification with annual audits by accredited bodies.

Direct Sourcing
2

Lot Segregation & Traceability

Certified lots are processed, stored, and milled separately from conventional lots. Each certified lot is assigned a unique lot code traceable to the cooperative, harvest date, and processing method. No co-mingling with non-certified coffee.

Full Traceability
3

Certificate of Analysis & QC

Each certified lot is cupped by our Q-Grader, moisture-tested, and defect-counted before export. Cupping reports, moisture logs, and green analysis sheets are provided with every shipment.

Q-Grader Verified
4

Export Documentation

We prepare all required export documents: Phytosanitary Certificate, ICO Certificate of Origin, Organic Transaction Certificate (OTC), Fair Trade Invoice (if applicable), and EUDR due diligence file for EU buyers.

5

Pre-Shipment Inspection

On request, we arrange SGS, Sucofindo, or Intertek pre-shipment inspection. Inspector verifies weight, container condition, and bag count before container sealing. Certificate issued within 2–3 business days of stuffing.

Certification Questions

We supply coffee with USDA Organic, EU Organic, Fairtrade International, Rainforest Alliance, ISO 22000 Food Safety, and Halal (MUI) certification. Standard export documents (Phytosanitary, ICO CoO, Health Certificate) are included with all shipments as a baseline. Certification availability varies by origin — Gayo and Mandheling have the widest certification coverage.
Yes. We supply EU Organic certified green coffee from Gayo, Mandheling, and Bali Kintamani. EU Organic certification is issued by an EU-accredited body. From 2025, all EU-bound coffee must also comply with the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation), which we handle as standard — we provide farm-level geolocation data and deforestation-free declarations for all EU shipments.
Yes. Certified lots carry a price premium: Organic typically adds USD 0.20–0.50/kg; Fairtrade adds the FLO Minimum Price premium of USD 0.20/lb above market; Rainforest Alliance adds approximately USD 0.05–0.10/kg. These premiums flow directly to the farmers and cooperatives as mandated by each certification body. We provide transparent pricing breakdowns in our quotes.
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR, Regulation 2023/1115) requires that coffee placed on the EU market after 2025 must not be associated with deforestation after December 31, 2020. EU importers must submit a due diligence statement (DDS) to the EU TRACES system before each import. We provide all required supporting documentation — farm geolocation polygons, land-use history, and deforestation-free declarations — making your DDS submission straightforward.
Yes. We provide SCA cupping reports from our Q-Grader for all specialty Arabica lots. The report includes scores for fragrance/aroma, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, sweetness, uniformity, cleanliness, and overall impression. Green analysis sheets (moisture, screen size, defect count) are also available. Request a sample pack + cupping report before placing your first order.
